FRANK BUTTERFIELD has been in the fitness industry for 30 years. Starting as a group fitness instructor and Frank created formats for athletic clubs like boot camp, navy seal bootcamp, triathlon training, core storm. He was the fitness events manager for NIKE, Inc. leading the launch of a before then unknown product category called “cross-training.” His team of fitness athletes travel around the United States demonstrating exercise formats and introducing the new product. Frank was also the US Launch director for a choreographed weight lifting program called “Body Pump.” Now the Les Mills Group Exercise franchise is one of the most dominant training system used around the world.
Frank’s post collegiate education included classes in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Anatomy, Nutrition at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Attending the Rehab Summit as the only personal trainer at a medical conference open up new world of training possibilities and led to attending the Lifestyle Medicine Institute Workshop at Harvard Medical School. Frank has been a guest lecturer at the University of South Carolina Medical School, addressing the masters students in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy as well as the first and second year medical students on the importance of including exercise as a prescription for treating illness.
After three world tours, keynoting conferences in over 30 countries, training performance athletes and celebrities, Frank realized the importance of nurturing the next generation of fitness leaders. The internship programs with Extraordinary Trainers. allow the best and brightest minds in the health, wellness and fitness to explore careers and entrepreneurial opportunities, to perfect their technical skills, to develop a personal wellness plan.
Frank still continues to travel to college campuses across the country delivering the message of a healthy lifestyle. Helping him to drive this message is his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. With parallel ideals of sound mind in a sound body, it is a natural fit. Frank serves as the Chairman of the Sound Body Task Force for the fraternity, pushing young men and women to pursue academics as fit, healthy scholar athletes.
Frank answers his phone himself (702.596.2845), reads and answer his email (firstname.lastname@example.org), hosts visiting brothers and scholars (Las Vegas, NV), and is happy to visit universities, companies, homes, parks, wherever people gather to move. At home, Frank teaches group class and personal trains over a dozen clients. Frank also wrote all of this. It is how he remembers his life so far.
